Jordan | Slight and temporary rise in temperatures by weekend with moderate summer conditions

WASM- Temperatures will rise slightly at the end of the week and return to their normal seasonal averages, slightly below average in western regions. The weather will be generally moderate summer weather, hot during the afternoon period especially in low-lying areas, with highs around 30 degrees Celsius in the capital and mountains.

Temperatures will remain slightly cold during nighttime hours and early morning in the capital and mountains, with lows below 18 degrees Celsius and the appearance of light clouds.

Return of temperature decline next week..
Temperatures will soon drop, bringing conditions closer to autumn during the middle and end of next week, as the chances of rainfall showers increase again, especially in the northern regions of the Kingdom.

Rainfall in northern Kingdom is seasonally rare..
Summer rainfall continues to affect the Kingdom, and in a rare and possibly unprecedented manner in terms of succession, which is considered an important indicator of imminent climate changes expected in the coming years. Climate changes in the Kingdom and the region have caused a very significant increase in rainfall rates in recent years, reaching more than 60% in some central regions.

Positive results from the climate model of WASM Regional Center..
The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a strong and prolonged rainy season, expected to begin early and end late, with initial results showing predictions of very large amounts of rainfall in many regions of the Kingdom, especially central regions, as these autumn rainy conditions are expected to begin during the second half of September.

High global temperatures, especially in oceans and seas, have caused unusual atmospheric circulation, resulting in significant temperature variations between different regions of the world and strong and extremely severe weather conditions, as well as a significant increase in the number of hurricanes and storms. The cause of these climate changes remains completely unknown, and there is still disagreement among many scientific bodies about the real causes. The causes could be natural factors in atmospheric circulation, which may be the primary cause, in addition to greenhouse gases contributing to accelerating these changes and increasing their extremes. Climate changes represent entirely new weather conditions and are not heat waves or droughts, but rather more dangerous than these weather phenomena.

WASM Regional Center is working to increase awareness about the reality of climate changes and their danger to Jordan, especially regarding large amounts of rainfall and increased rates of floods, torrents, and Mediterranean storms in recent years, which have caused significant damage to many sectors.
