Jordan | Slight decrease in temperatures starting Saturday with moderate summer conditions next week

WASM- The hot summer weather (typical) is receding from the Kingdom and temperatures are dropping slightly below their seasonal averages starting from Saturday evening and gradually, as a more moderate air mass affects the Kingdom.

Hot summer weather Friday..
Weather is expected to remain hot tomorrow Friday and temperatures will remain stable at 33-34 degrees Celsius in the capital and mountains, while the atmosphere will remain moderately cool at night in general, but will drop slightly starting from Saturday and is expected to reach around 17-18 degrees Celsius at the peaks of the capital during the night of Sunday/Monday and some nights of the coming week.

Weather moderation starting from Saturday gradually..
The weather will become moderately summer-like most of the time in the mountains and capital, and slightly cool during the night and early morning during most nights of the coming week, with slight fluctuations in temperatures around mid-week, with temperatures remaining within summer averages to slightly below.

Continuation of less hot summer weather during the coming two weeks..
The weather of the coming two weeks is expected to be different from the previous two weeks, with the weather being moderate in the mountains and capital most of the time except during midday and afternoon hours when highs are recorded between 30-32 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures during previous days were within their normal summer averages to slightly above, and residents of low-lying areas and the Jordan Valley may not notice a clear difference in weather during the coming period.

Why did severe heat waves not affect Jordan, Palestine, and the Levant despite affecting most of the Mediterranean region?
Abnormal conditions are occurring across the entire Mediterranean region that caused temperatures to rise to record-breaking numbers, coinciding with strong cold waves and snow falling in parts of western Europe in a rare occurrence.

The inability of severe heat waves to affect Jordan, Palestine, and temperatures remaining within normal averages to slightly above is due to the formation of a high-pressure zone over northern Egypt, which caused the severe heat wave to scatter towards Greece, western Turkey, and southern Europe, resulting in northwestern winds being pushed towards Jordan and Palestine that caused heat waves to be pushed far away from the Kingdom and Palestine.

Severe heat waves are expected to renew over North Africa and southern Europe later in the second week of August, which may result in higher temperatures compared to the previous period.
