WASM – Temperatures to drop slightly tomorrow Monday
and during the coming days normal summer weather returns to the Kingdom, with moderate weather most of the time in the mountainous regions and hot during the noon and afternoon periods, especially in the low-lying areas. The maximum will reach around 32-33 degrees Celsius in the mountains and the capital, and the minimum around 22 degrees Celsius with northwest winds blowing, to be around the summer seasonal average to higher by about 1-2 degrees Celsius in parts of the central eastern regions and the Eastern Badiah region.
The Kingdom was affected by hot weather during the previous days where temperatures exceeded their seasonal averages by about 3 degrees Celsius and recorded around the mid-thirties in Celsius in the capital and mountains.
Continuation of normal summer weather during the coming days..
Normal summer weather continues for several days over the Kingdom and temperatures remain around their normal seasonal averages with slight rises and falls, and temperatures are expected to rise slightly at the beginning of next week and for a temporary period before a noticeable and clear drop during the last week of the current month.
Severe and intense heat wave strikes Southern Europe and North Africa..
Wide areas of the southern part of the European continent and North Africa are affected by a severe and rare heat wave that has caused temperatures to rise to 46 degrees Celsius and approached 50 degrees Celsius in the northern regions of Algeria and Tunisia, continuing for more than two weeks and expected to continue for several more weeks!.
This strong and severe heat wave has caused the heat wave to concentrate towards the Eastern Badiah of the Kingdom and the desert regions away from the western regions of the Kingdom, which resulted in reducing the intensity of the heat especially during the evening and night.
The rise in temperature during this period is normal and natural..
The WASM Regional Center does not classify the current weather conditions as a record heat wave except for the Badiah and Eastern regions and some low-lying areas, and this is because it did not meet the criteria for a heat wave in terms of intensity, comprehensiveness and long time period, away from the exaggeration of many local media outlets.
The average maximum temperature in the capital and mountains reaches 32.5 degrees Celsius, as it reaches about 33.7 degrees Celsius at the northern Marka station and close to 35 degrees Celsius in the Queen Alia International Airport area and Zizya region, and the average temperature in Aqaba, the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea ranges between 41-43 degrees Celsius, and no area recorded any record temperature during the previous days and remained within its seasonal averages to above its seasonal averages by about 3-4 degrees on the previous Thursday.
The rise in temperature during summer is considered normal and natural and occurs continuously, and the Kingdom is still far from record and major heat waves so far, as temperatures will return to their normal summer seasonal averages starting from Monday for several days and remain around their seasonal averages with rises and falls.
WASM recommends staying away from direct sunlight and increasing fluid consumption especially in the low-lying areas, the Jordan Valley and desert regions of the Kingdom and adjusting air conditioning devices to 24 degrees Celsius to avoid pressure on the electricity sector.
