Jordan | Stable weather at the end of the week, with a return of cold and rainy conditions next Monday

WASM - Temperatures will rise slightly during the weekend during the day and heat will return to seasonal averages. Weather will remain generally cold in the mountains, especially at night. The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a low pressure system at the beginning of next week, starting from Sunday/Monday night until Monday evening.

Details..
The Kingdom is affected by a high pressure system during the weekend, which causes weather stability and a slight rise in temperatures. Conditions are suitable for outdoor trips, provided that winter and warm clothing is worn in the mountains and plains, and staying away from water accumulation areas or any area still experiencing runoff due to the effects of the previous low pressure system.

The Kingdom is affected by a low pressure system positioned northeast of Cyprus from Sunday evening until Monday evening, but it is less severe compared to the previous low pressure system and is classified as a typical winter low pressure system. Heavy rains fall occasionally in northern and central Kingdom and southwestern regions on Monday, and weather gradually stabilizes with Tuesday dawn.

Long-term forecasts..
Typical winter weather conditions are expected to continue. The Kingdom is expected to be affected by another typical winter condition during the end of next week, causing a renewal of rainfall. WASM Regional Center is monitoring a long series of cold low pressure systems during the beginning of December, specifically starting from the end of the first week of December and the beginning of the second week, with details to be issued accordingly.

Scientific analysis for distant periods..
Through studying atmospheric circulation, a sharp oscillation is observed in atmospheric pressure values in the northern Atlantic Ocean region extending to northern Europe and the polar circle, coinciding with the presence of a "strong polar vortex" in eastern Europe. This causes typical winter conditions over the eastern Mediterranean region and Jordan with occasional rainfall in the coming period until the beginning of the first week of December.

With rapid changes in atmospheric organization and due to an expected contingency in the western United States, which is expected to be affected by a strong polar vortex with the beginning of the first week of December driven from the Pacific Ocean, this causes a clear beginning of atmospheric pressure decline in the northern Atlantic region, especially north-central Atlantic extending sometimes to the edges of Iceland and extending occasionally to Ireland. This results in a rapid rise in atmospheric pressure over the European continent, which causes the polar vortex to be confined in eastern Europe towards the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the Levant, and Jordan, causing a long series of strong and cold low pressure systems. These details will be issued later.
