WASM – Jordan will be affected by consecutive atmospheric depressions starting Wednesday evening and continuing until the end of the month, accompanied by heavy rainfall, active winds, and a significant drop in temperatures.
The atmosphere will be stable on Monday and Tuesday, generally cold, and warm during midday hours, with medium and high clouds appearing from Tuesday evening onwards.
Winds will be active on Wednesday and the weather will be cloudy with medium and high clouds as a result of Jordan being affected by the front of an atmospheric depression positioned over the Cyprus Basin. Rainy clouds will increase during night hours, and rain will fall during the night, sometimes thundery and heavy.
The impact of the atmospheric depression will deepen on Thursday with heavy rainfall sometimes accompanied by hail showers and strong wind activity. Caution should be taken regarding the formation of floods and torrential floods, especially in low-lying areas and valleys. The intensity of rainfall will ease on Friday and become in the form of light scattered showers with fog presence, which precedes the formation of a new atmospheric depression in the Eastern Mediterranean Basin.
Another atmospheric depression is expected to form on Saturday and the beginning of the week, bringing more rainfall with the expectation of multiple atmospheric depressions forming next week.
WASM is monitoring severe polar cold winds positioned over Turkey, which will cause the formation of these depressions and their potential impact on the Kingdom's atmosphere during the coming period.
