WASM – The Kingdom will continue to be affected by mild-temperature winds for most of the coming days, extending to cover most of July, making the weather almost similar to spring conditions in some periods due to the continued dominance of mild-temperature winds over the Eastern Mediterranean Basin, the Levant, and Jordan as a result of an unusual atmospheric circulation pattern.
In detail, the influx of cooler air from northern European regions, specifically from north of the Scandinavian Islands, towards southeastern Europe and the eastern Mediterranean will continue, causing temperatures to fall below typical summer averages, which will be particularly noticeable during the night and morning hours.
This occasionally causes periods closer to spring weather conditions in high mountains and temperatures in the twenties Celsius in the capital and mountains during the day and around 15 degrees Celsius at night.
The Kingdom is expected to be affected by some typical "summer hot" days at intervals separated by mild-temperature air masses that are expected to continue pushing towards the region.
Temperatures in the capital's high mountains recorded 15-16 degrees Celsius this morning, Tuesday, causing a slight feeling of cold weather, which reflects a weak and shy summer.
Have the chances of rain ended?
WASM Regional Center has issued several studies indicating that chances of rain will remain present throughout this summer but at scattered intervals, due to an unusual atmospheric circulation and as a result of intensifying climate changes in the region, which have caused a significant increase in rainfall rates in the Kingdom in recent years exceeding 60% in some areas.
Rain shower chances are expected to continue in the Kingdom, renewing in limited areas by the end of the week over parts of the northwestern Kingdom, then increasing noticeably around mid-July as a result of expected cooler air masses pushing from the far north of the European continent towards the Kingdom.
This atmospheric circulation is interesting and clearly indicates unusual behavior in weather systems, which are expected to bring severe heat waves to wide parts of the European continent coinciding with an increase in the rate of strong storms in parts of northern Europe.
Will heat waves be absent from Jordan this summer?
Despite expecting mild weather for most of this summer, it does not mean the absence of heat waves, as their chances are expected to increase significantly during the second half of August but will coincide with strong atmospheric disturbances affecting many regions due to intensification of monsoon winds towards Somalia, Sudan, and a wide range of western Arabia, with details of these weather conditions to be issued later using the climate model of WASM Regional Center.
