Jordan | Temporary Retreat of Hot Weather from Sunday Through Tuesday with Renewed Heat at Week's End

WASM – Hot conditions will completely dissipate this evening, Saturday, through Tuesday, with temperatures dropping slightly below seasonal averages and moderate summer weather prevailing overall. Conditions will be hot during the afternoon and moderate most of the time, becoming cool in mountainous areas during nighttime hours and early morning, with temperatures rising noticeably at the end of the week coinciding with expected unusual atmospheric disturbances caused by the combination of humidity and rising heat.

Slightly cold nights in the mountains..
The mountainous regions will be affected by slightly cold nights from Sunday/Monday evening through Tuesday/Wednesday evening due to temperature drops during nighttime and early morning hours reaching around 15 degrees Celsius on the capital's peaks, with light rain showers expected in parts of the northern regions of the kingdom on Sunday and Monday.

Significant temperature rise "again" beginning Thursday and continuing until before Eid..
Temperatures will rise again from Thursday for a period of three days, recording again between the early and mid-thirties in the capital and mountains, and higher in desert and eastern regions, exceeding 45 degrees Celsius in Aqaba, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley. Note that the expected temperature rise will noticeably affect the Jordan Valley, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea compared to the hot conditions during the previous week which concentrated their effects on elevated areas and eastern regions, due to the influx of hot air from North Africa across the Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean region will be affected by a strong and unusual heat wave mid to late in the new week, impacting Greece, Italy, Libya, and parts of Tunisia, advancing toward Turkey and the eastern Mediterranean region but after retreating noticeably. The strong heat wave will persist over the Mediterranean and is expected to advance later toward vast areas of Europe during the end of June.

Strong heat waves toward Europe will continue for an extended period this summer with expected high temperatures in all Mediterranean regional areas coinciding with unusual atmospheric disturbances resulting from unusual circulation patterns of the atmosphere.
