WASM – Temperatures will rise temporarily from Friday through Sunday, slightly exceeding their seasonal averages, with highs reaching around 28 degrees Celsius in the capital and mountainous areas during the day. However, temperatures will remain slightly cool during the night and early morning due to a renewed extension of the Red Sea low-pressure system moving toward the Kingdom.
WASM advises caution regarding obvious temperature fluctuations during the coming period, including daily temperature variations (between highs and lows) as well as temperature differences from one day to another, which represent changes in atmospheric conditions. These weather conditions increase the chances of seasonal illnesses.
Temperatures slightly exceed their seasonal averages|
Despite early autumn conditions leaning toward coolness beginning earlier this year, this does not prevent temporary and short-term temperature rises during certain periods due to the rotational nature of the atmosphere. Temperatures are expected to trend warm slightly during the day, but will remain cool during the night and morning in the mountains and plains, and warmer in low-lying areas, valleys, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea.
Temperatures decline again next Monday|
Temperatures will decrease gradually starting from late Sunday night/Monday and throughout Monday, gradually returning to their seasonal averages. Another temperature drop is expected during the middle of the week as cool autumn conditions return with chances of light rain showers resuming.
Weather disturbances before mid-month|
The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a new extension of the Red Sea low-pressure system before mid-month. However, this time it is expected to coincide with weather disturbances and instability in various regions, which increases the chance of thunderstorm rain showers in different areas with continued temperature variation.
Weather disturbances intensify during the end of the third week of the month|
The deepening of the Red Sea low-pressure system toward the region will increase the severity of weather disturbances in the region and surrounding areas, with expected continuous temperature declines at a later time. WASM Regional Center will continue issuing regular weather updates.
