WASM – Jordan will be affected by a weather condition starting Thursday in the form of rainfall followed by a very cold polar wind surge on Friday and Saturday that will intensify precipitation, activate winds, and bring cold weather.
Scattered moderate-intensity rainfall will fall on Thursday coinciding with cold weather, and rainfall will temporarily decrease during Thursday/Friday night due to the formation of a new atmospheric low-pressure system in the eastern Mediterranean basin accompanied by cold and polar-origin winds.
Starting from late morning and midday period on Friday, rainfall will resume and will be thunderstorm-related and heavy at times mixed with hail and snow showers in high mountain peaks and these weather conditions will continue until Friday evening on intervals and in scattered form and will cover various regions of the Kingdom including the southern regions and especially the Karak area.
The weather condition will gradually diminish during Saturday evening and weather will stabilize at the beginning of next week, with an expected rise in temperature before rainfall resumes at the beginning of February.
