Jordan | Weather Alert: Atmospheric Instability Expected Monday and Tuesday with Sharp Temperature Fluctuations

The Kingdom will be affected on Monday and Tuesday by clear weather instability resulting in sharp temperature fluctuations between noticeable warming during Monday daytime followed by sharp decline on Tuesday, coinciding with wind activity, dust stirring, increased clouds and thunderstorm rainfall in various regions.

- Sharp rise in temperature Monday daytime and dusty active winds..
Temperatures will rise Monday daytime as the Kingdom is affected by a dry atmospheric low pressure system positioned north of Egypt bringing wind activity and occasional strong gusts and heavy dust stirring especially in desert areas, with highs in the capital and surrounding mountains around 33 degrees Celsius, which is 2-3 degrees above seasonal averages.

- Significant temperature drop Tuesday and thunderstorm showers..
Temperatures will drop noticeably and sharply Tuesday especially during nighttime hours, preceded by wind activity and increasing clouds at different altitudes and thunderstorm rainfall in various regions of the Kingdom that will be generally light to moderate intensity in some areas.

- Return to moderate conditions for the rest of the week..
Temperatures will drop below seasonal averages again starting Tuesday evening until early next week with highs in the capital and mountains around 26-27 degrees Celsius and lows reaching 16 degrees Celsius where conditions tend to be cold at night in the mountains and capital.

WASM advises caution from weather conditions on Monday and Tuesday, especially for patients with respiratory diseases, allergies and asthma, as well as caution from sharp and large temperature fluctuations between the rise and subsequent decline, with these weather fluctuations being caused by continued delayed activity of atmospheric lows advancing from North Africa and the Mediterranean region.

Return of weather instability during the second week of June..
Clear weather instability will return during the second week of June in an unseasonable manner due to unusual atmospheric circulation patterns, with more details to be issued as the timeframe approaches.
