The cold weather condition, which is expected to be semi-wintery, coincides with low temperatures compared to this time of year, with highs in the capital Amman reaching only around 21 degrees Celsius and lows of 14 degrees Celsius and lower in the mountains, with cloud accumulation especially in the morning period and scattered rainfall of moderate intensity.
This rainfall coincides with thunderstorms occurring in the northern regions of the Kingdom during the dawn and morning hours of Friday, which may result from heavy rainfall in limited areas for a short period, with expected wind activity and fog formation in high mountains.
Temperature drops increase tonight and Thursday tomorrow coinciding with wind activity and cloud accumulation, and gradually rainfall begins to fall on northern regions late Thursday night/Friday, extending to central areas during dawn and morning of Friday.
WASM issues a yellow alert level for weather conditions over northern and central Jordan due to expected rainfall, wind activity, and fog formation in the mountains. Also, attention should be paid to dust storms in desert areas.
WASM Regional Center forecasts an early start to the rainfall season this year, with an increase in rainy conditions expected during the coming month along with a noticeable decline in temperatures.
