WASM – The Kingdom was affected by a winter storm that resulted in heavy rain and strong winds during Monday, with rainfall amounts exceeding 70 mm in the north and center, and the stormy winds caused the closure of Aqaba Port and external roads.
Heavy rainfall is expected to continue until Friday in the north and center of the Kingdom, extending during Thursday and Friday to some southern areas, particularly the highlands of Karak intermittently amid cold and foggy weather, then weather conditions will gradually stabilize on Saturday with cold atmosphere remaining. WASM issues an orange alert level for rainy weather conditions until Wednesday and it will drop to yellow on Thursday and Friday.
It is expected that the atmosphere will be very cold starting Friday evening and during Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures approaching zero degrees Celsius, causing severe cold sensation with frost formation expected during the night and early morning, especially in desert and high mountainous areas.
Temperatures are expected to rise slightly in the middle of next week, particularly during the day before the return of atmospheric depressions and rainy conditions is expected during the end of next week
The Kingdom has been affected by successive atmospheric depressions since the end of November, resulting in large amounts of rain and significant improvement in the rainy season, making this rainy season so far one of the excellent rainy seasons.
