Jordan | Weather Alert for Tomorrow Sunday.. Strong atmospheric instability with heavy thunderstorms and strong winds

WASM - The Kingdom will be affected tomorrow, Sunday afternoon and evening, by a "strong" weather instability condition affecting various regions, particularly northern, central, and eastern parts of the Kingdom, including the Dead Sea area and the capital Amman, resulting in heavy thunderstorm showers, strong winds which will be "stormy at times" accompanied by sudden dust waves, but coinciding with warm spring weather.

In detail, cumulonimbus thunderclouds will form today, Saturday, especially during the evening and night hours over scattered areas in northern, central, and eastern regions of the Kingdom, resulting in rainfall showers at the forefront of the strong weather instability condition.

The weather condition will begin in the afternoon and evening of Sunday, intensifying during the evening and early morning hours, resulting in the formation of thunderstorms, heavy rainfall showers, strong winds, and sudden dust waves, as well as the formation of flash floods in low-lying areas and valleys, particularly in northern, central, and eastern parts of the Kingdom.

Thunderclouds will renew in the afternoon and evening of Monday with heavy thunderstorm showers sometimes falling coinciding with wind activity in various parts of the Kingdom, and the weather condition will weaken on Tuesday temporarily, then renew at the end of the week over various regions of the country.

As a result of the strength of the weather condition, WASM issues a red alert level for weather conditions on the eastern regions of the Kingdom and an orange level on northern and central parts of the country, resulting in sudden dust waves, flash floods, and heavy rainfall showers tomorrow Sunday, with the alert level dropping to yellow in the afternoon of Monday and Tuesday, with an expected renewal of the weather condition at the end of the week.

WASM advises following the warnings of the Jordanian Meteorological Department and the instructions of Civil Defense and Public Security, staying completely away from low-lying areas and valleys, and being careful of those with allergies, respiratory conditions, and asthma.
