WASM- The heat wave affecting Jordan continues, but temperatures drop slightly coinciding with "a significant increase in relative humidity" making the weather exhausting in various regions. The maximum temperature in the capital Amman reaches around 36 degrees Celsius, but the actual temperature feels around 40 degrees Celsius. The capital Amman recorded high to very high temperatures during Friday and Saturday, reaching between 37-39 degrees Celsius.
The intensity of the heat wave decreases on Monday with the continuation of hot and exhausting weather in various regions, then the heat wave renews on Tuesday and during Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and several other days, becoming "strong" with severely elevated temperatures settling at forty-degree levels in the capital Amman.
The Jordan Valley, Aqaba, Dead Sea regions and low-lying areas record around 45 degrees Celsius during the heat wave impact, and it is expected to rise to very high temperatures during the end of August and the beginning of September.
The "WASM" regional center was unique in forecasting the heat wave impact, with accurate monitoring of temperatures in various cities due to the use of W.DMM technology, which is expected to continue for an extended period exceeding two weeks.
