Jordan | Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Snow Showers Sunday and Monday, Strong Winter Storm Wednesday

WASM- The Kingdom is being affected by a new polar wave starting tomorrow, Sunday, where heavy rainfall is expected over wide areas of the Kingdom from afternoon until Monday evening, with snow showers falling on the peaks of high mountains above 1100m during Sunday/Monday night and Monday day. New and limited snow accumulations are expected on the peaks of the north and south.

Weather will stabilize on Tuesday and remain very cold and partly cloudy due to the formation of a new low-pressure system over the island of Cyprus accompanied by a polar air mass "extremely cold and highly humid" where the new low-pressure system is expected to begin on Wednesday accompanied by heavy snow over the mountains and heavy rainfall, and WASM will issue all details progressively.

The new low-pressure system is expected to develop on Wednesday into a strong winter storm accompanied by severe precipitation "rainfall, snow, storm winds and extremely low temperatures". The current rainy season is registering a strong succession of storms, depressions and cold waves that may not have occurred for many long years.

WASM expects the winter storm to continue until the beginning of February, while monitoring more successive depressions and storms throughout the rest of the winter season. Some central and northern regions are expected to record their rainy season early.
