Jordan | Weather Alert | Heavy rainfall conditions beginning Sunday evening and continuing until Tuesday morning

WASM – The Kingdom is affected by a new weather depression positioned to the southeast of the Kingdom accompanied by a cold and humid air mass resulting in scattered rainfall in the evening of Sunday on the western part of the Kingdom then extending to various areas on Monday, especially during daylight hours.

In detail, the weather depression is positioned north of the Red Sea region on Sunday evening then advances to the southeast of the Kingdom on Monday, causing thunderstorm rainfall in the western areas, especially the central and southwestern regions of the Kingdom.

Snow showers fall on the peaks of southern mountains exceeding 1500 meters above sea level on Monday morning, accumulating in a limited and temporary manner, with heavy thunderstorm rainfall below these altitudes.

The weather condition is expected to concentrate on the central areas and the Dead Sea basin and regions of the southwest of the Kingdom, with expectations that various areas of the Kingdom will be affected by the weather condition.

The impact of the weather depression gradually recedes on Tuesday, with renewed rainfall expected in the late evening of Wednesday/Thursday and throughout most of the weekend period due to a new highly active weather depression.

The succession of weather depressions continues over the Kingdom throughout the coming weeks accompanied by large quantities of precipitation on most areas with an increased chance of snow falling in more than one period due to cold weather and declining temperatures.

WASM issues an orange alert level for weather conditions on Monday due to heavy rainfall and the danger of flooding and snow showers on the peaks of southern mountains.
