WASM- Heavy rains are expected to renew across various regions of the Kingdom, including the southern regions and Aqaba area, from Sunday evening through Monday due to the anticipated passage of a deep cold front across different atmospheric layers. The expected rainy conditions are considered the third comprehensive weather event this rainy season.
The heavy rains will be preceded by stable and sunny conditions on Friday and Saturday with the appearance of high and medium clouds, and the weather will be suitable for outdoor trips during the weekend holiday, provided that winter clothing is worn.
Temperatures will rise temporarily during Sunday daytime to make the atmosphere warmer than usual before the deep cold front enters different atmospheric layers and heavy rains fall, which will affect various regions of the Kingdom for the third time this rainy season.
The rainy season continues to achieve significant rainfall rates in many regions, as west of the capital Amman recorded precipitation amounts reaching 230 mm since the beginning of the rainy season, which is equivalent to approximately 45% of the entire rainy season and performing above 150% according to available weather monitoring stations, and rains fell in the southern regions during the previous week, which significantly improved the rainy season in those areas.
It is expected that the Kingdom will be affected after mid-next week by a series of low-pressure systems accompanied by cold to extremely cold air masses at times, and WASM will issue all details accordingly.
