Jordan | Weather Alert: Hot and Dry Conditions Expected for Extended Period

Jordan is being affected by a long-duration heat wave of moderate intensity that will persist for at least 10 days, with temperatures settling around 37 degrees Celsius in the capital, Amman.

The weather will be generally hot and dry, but humidity levels will rise temporarily and briefly during the afternoon and evening periods, then decrease during the night. Temperatures will also be warmer than normal during nighttime hours.

Winds will blow from the northeast in the morning and northwest during the afternoon and early evening hours, with the heat wave pushing in from the great deserts and the far north of Saudi Arabia.

This heat wave is expected to continue through the first two weeks of August, after which temperatures will drop noticeably. Many regions around the world are experiencing intensified heat waves with stronger impacts, as well as extreme weather conditions and waves of floods, torrential rains, forest fires, all resulting from the climate crisis—climate changes caused by the global warming phenomenon.
