WASM – The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a heat wave that will last for several days, starting on Thursday, with temperatures approaching 38-39 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman.
The heat wave is expected to advance from desert regions, particularly from northern Arabian Peninsula and parts of the Sahara Desert in the African continent, which will cause an exhausting feeling of extremely hot conditions in various regions, including mountainous areas. The heat wave will sometimes coincide with an increase in humidity levels in the afternoon period, especially in the western regions of the Kingdom, which will increase the feeling of exhaustion.
The heat wave is expected to last for about 5 days and end during the first days of Eid. The peak of the heat wave will occur during the beginning of next week, which will result in temperatures approaching 40 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman.
WASM recommends following the guidelines of the Jordanian Meteorology Department and adhering to all warnings issued by it, which is the official authority for issuing warnings.
