WASM – The Kingdom will be affected tomorrow, Wednesday, by an autumn weather condition where clouds will gradually increase at different altitudes during midday and afternoon hours, and rain showers will fall in the northern regions of the Kingdom, generally light in intensity and moderate in limited areas for short periods, particularly in the Al-Baqourah region, west of Irbid, and Ajloun highlands.
Winds will be active during certain periods, especially during midday and afternoon hours, stirring dust in desert areas and leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility occasionally. The atmosphere will be slightly cold at night, especially in the mountains, coinciding with partly cloudy weather and fog formation in high mountains and some plains areas.
Light and limited rains will also fall during the afternoon and evening in limited areas of the Salt, Amman, and Madaba highlands, coinciding with occasional wind activity.
Temperatures will continue to drop on Thursday and Friday, with weather remaining partly cloudy and limited rain shower chances persisting during midday and afternoon in the northern regions of the Kingdom. Light and limited rain chances are also expected to renew in central areas of the Kingdom during the afternoon and evening, with continued wind activity on Thursday.
In scientific detail, a slightly cold air mass is expected to deepen in the mid-levels of the atmosphere tomorrow, Wednesday, which will allow cumulus clouds to develop, especially in the north of the Kingdom, with rain showers falling. These weather conditions are slightly early and come with the beginning of autumn, and WASM Regional Center expects an early start to the rainy season this year, despite expectations of occasional long dry spells during the season.
