WASM- Jordan will be affected by a new air depression forming in northern Egypt and gradually moving towards southeastern Jordan on Tuesday, accompanied by very cold conditions, active winds, and heavy rainfall mixed with snow in southern Jordan starting from the evening and night of Monday/Tuesday until Wednesday morning.
In detail, rain showers will fall in the evening of Monday over scattered areas with cloudy and very cold weather and active easterly winds. Gradually during Tuesday, the air depression will be centered south of Jordan, increasing atmospheric activity in southern regions with heavy rainfall mixed with snow and hail falling in Al-Tafila, Al-Shobak, Al-Karak and surrounding areas.
Rain will extend in the form of scattered showers towards central and northern Jordan areas, particularly in the evening of Tuesday with moderate intensity coinciding with active winds.
Very cold and dry easterly winds will move towards the Kingdom coinciding with humid winds in the middle layers of the atmosphere, which will cause dense cloud formation and heavy precipitation, especially in southern Jordan.
WASM issued an orange alert level in the southern regions due to the weather condition and a yellow level in the rest of the regions.
The WASM Regional Center is monitoring consecutive air depressions at the end of this month and the beginning of March that will cause heavy precipitation and severe cold weather.
