Variable snow accumulations are expected tonight on various highlands exceeding 900 meters above sea level, including the capital, with significant temperature drops below zero Celsius during precipitation causing freezing in mountainous areas.
Heavy rain continues until Thursday with more flooding and torrents|
Heavy to very heavy rain continues until Thursday morning then gradually decreases afterwards, and the weather remains very cold during the end of the week with mixed rain and snow showers.
WASM Regional Center issues red alert|
WASM issues a red alert level for weather conditions tonight and tomorrow and for the danger of snow accumulation especially in areas exceeding 900 meters which include the highlands of Ajloun and Jerash, western Amman highlands, and the highlands of Karak, Tafilah and Shoubak.
Wind speed decreasing|
Wind speeds are expected to decrease on Wednesday and Thursday with gusts around 40-50 km/hour and average speeds around 30-35 km/hour but with very low temperatures.
