WASM- The Kingdom will be affected tomorrow, Thursday, by a "deep" low-pressure system centered around the island of Cyprus accompanied by a very cold air mass and stormy winds, resulting in heavy rainfall in the north and center of the Kingdom and a significant drop in temperature by 15 degrees Celsius compared to Wednesday, with temperatures expected to drop to around 3 degrees Celsius on Thursday/Friday night.
In detail, the Kingdom will be affected today, Wednesday, by the warm weather front accompanying the low-pressure system, resulting in rising temperatures and the accumulation of medium and high clouds and light and limited rainfall showers in various areas. Gradually, during the late hours of tonight, temperatures will drop significantly and scattered rain will fall in the western parts of the Kingdom.
The low-pressure system will deepen over the east of the island of Cyprus and near the coasts of Syria tomorrow, Thursday morning, and wind speeds will intensify to become "stormy" with gusts exceeding 100 km/hour, causing sandstorms in a wide range of desert areas. Heavy rainfall will fall in the north and center of the Kingdom from midday until the late hours of Thursday/Friday night.
Cold, cloudy, and foggy weather will continue on Friday with scattered rainfall amid cold conditions, and the weather will gradually stabilize during Friday/Saturday night with the formation of dense fog.
Temperatures will rise slightly on Saturday and the cold will ease, remaining partly cloudy and generally cold. It will be suitable for outdoor trips, but on condition of wearing heavy winter clothing. The weather will become unstable at the beginning of next week with significant temperature fluctuations, rainfall showers, and active winds. Therefore, caution should be taken regarding the rapid changes in weather during this period.
