WASM- The Kingdom will be affected tonight and Wednesday morning by a cold air front that will cause a significant temperature drop, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The thunderstorms will be heavy at times, especially in the western regions of the Kingdom, and caution should be taken regarding the risk of flash floods in low-lying areas and valleys.
Scattered rainfall will continue until Wednesday midday in scattered areas, particularly in the north and center, and weather will stabilize temporarily on Wednesday evening and Thursday night. WASM issues a yellow alert level for weather conditions, and the level rises to orange according to the specifications on the map.
It is expected that the Kingdom will be affected by the beginning of a new low-pressure system on Thursday, with partly cloudy weather and scattered rain showers falling in the north of the Kingdom and limited zones in the center. Gradually, during Thursday midnight to Friday morning, heavy rains are expected to fall in the north, center, and parts of the south of the Kingdom. The low-pressure system will reach its peak impact during Friday evening until Saturday midday. This low-pressure system is expected to continue from Thursday midnight until Saturday evening, lasting approximately 36-48 hours.
Temporary weather stabilization is expected at the beginning of next week, followed by the Kingdom being affected by a new low-pressure system during the middle and end of next week accompanied by heavy rainfall and cold conditions.
WASM Regional Center mentioned in its monthly bulletin issued on 25-11 that rainy conditions will be monitored throughout December, with weather systems in the second half being stronger, more consecutive, and colder. The accuracy of the climate model developed by WASM Regional Center—the only one of its kind in the Arab region—reached 80% during November and December, which is considered unprecedented accuracy in this type of model in the Arab region. WASM Regional Center relies on advanced technology in weather forecasting, as WASM is considered the only company in the Arab region specialized in weather technology.
