The Kingdom will be affected by a new weather instability condition starting tomorrow, Sunday, affecting the northern, central, and eastern regions of the Kingdom, resulting in scattered thunderstorms and occasional wind activity, which may be heavy at times in the north and east of the Kingdom, causing water accumulation.
The weather will be pleasant in terms of temperatures and slightly cold during the night, with temperatures remaining below their seasonal averages significantly, as the current month is characterized by cold, humidity, and rainfall, contrary to what usually occurs.
Weather instability is expected to intensify on Tuesday to become widespread across large areas of the Kingdom, resulting in thunderstorms that are sometimes heavy and also include the Aqaba region.
A yellow alert level is issued for weather conditions on Sunday and Monday, while an orange alert is issued on Tuesday due to the intensification of weather conditions. The public is advised to be alert to heavy rainfall at times on Sunday and Monday in the north and east of the Kingdom and the danger of water accumulation.
The weather condition is caused by the presence of a low-pressure system in the middle and upper atmospheric layers coinciding with the extension of the Red Sea low from the southeast, followed by intensification and increasing deepening of the Red Sea low on Tuesday coinciding with the approach of the atmospheric low in the middle and upper layers of the atmosphere towards the Kingdom's atmosphere.
In simple terms, the presence of cold air in the middle and upper layers of the atmosphere will coincide with warmer and more humid air in the surface layers, resulting in unstable atmospheric conditions, coinciding with the passage of cold fronts in the middle and upper layers of the atmosphere during some periods, which increases atmospheric activity at times.
