WASM- The Kingdom will be affected by a weather instability condition that begins on Sunday, resulting in heavy thunderstorm rainfall in various regions of the Kingdom, strong winds, and sudden dust storms during the afternoon and evening hours. However, this condition coincides with warm spring weather, with maximum temperatures in the capital Amman reaching 28 degrees Celsius.
In detail, the weather condition begins gradually from the evening and night hours of Saturday/Sunday with scattered and thunderstorm rainfall in scattered areas of the Kingdom, especially in the north, center, and east of the Kingdom. Then the weather condition intensifies on Sunday with heavy thunderstorm rainfall during the afternoon and evening hours, coinciding with dust storms and sudden strong winds.
As a result of heavy rainfall in some areas, flash floods and sudden transported floods are expected in low-lying areas. Transported floods are those that move from areas that experienced sudden heavy rainfall to areas that did not experience rainfall. Therefore, it is essential to stay completely away from low-lying areas and valleys, and to follow the instructions of the Civil Defense and General Security and warnings issued by the Jordanian Meteorology Department.
