Jordan will be affected starting from Monday/Tuesday evening and night until Wednesday with a very cold weather condition causing rain and occasionally mixed with snow concentrated in the southern regions of the kingdom and extending lightly and moderately at times to the rest of the regions, with the weather condition reaching its peak Tuesday evening.
In detail, a low pressure system is positioned southeast of Jordan accompanied by strong, cold and dry easterly winds on most areas coinciding with an influx of moist winds in the middle layers of the atmosphere causing the formation of dense moderate clouds resulting in heavy precipitation especially in the southern and eastern regions.
The atmosphere will be extremely cold especially with the coincidence of strong, biting cold and active easterly winds, and this increases the feeling of very cold weather in various regions, and occasionally snow showers fall in the high southern mountains.
It is expected from the end of the new week and the beginning of March successive new low pressure systems affecting the region within the influence of a biting cold polar wave which is expected to result in heavy precipitation.
It is advised tonight and Sunday morning to be cautious of freezing and frost formation with temperatures dropping to zero degrees Celsius and below in the high mountains.
