Jordan | Weather stability on Wednesday with rising temperatures, and return of cold and rainy conditions mid-month

weather conditions will stabilize starting Wednesday following several days of heavy rainfall, particularly over the northern and central regions of the kingdom. Temperatures will rise to ease the intensity of cold weather in the mountains, but will remain cold during the night and early morning.

In detail, temperatures will rise on Wednesday and Thursday, then decrease on Friday and Saturday with light rain showers expected in various regions of the kingdom.

Temperatures will rise again at the beginning of next week in a clear and noticeable manner, and heat will approach 20 degrees Celsius in the capital and mountains, but for a short and temporary period, as a result of atmospheric lows approaching the kingdom which will be characterized by coldness and large amounts of rain again.

A new cold and rainy period mid and end of next week..
Heavy rainfall and cold weather will return following an expected short stable period, as the WASM Regional Center is monitoring cold air masses with high humidity being driven from the north of the Atlantic Ocean to the region.

Regarding snow forecasts, they are generally unlikely during the period of activity of the expected atmospheric lows due to the nature of the high humidity and marine air masses being driven from the Atlantic Ocean, except that changes sometimes occur especially in the month of February which is characterized by rapid weather fluctuations.

Nevertheless, attention is turning again to the period of late February and early March regarding the possibility of expecting a "very cold" period with high humidity, and details will be provided in upcoming bulletins.

Northern regions have exceeded their annual averages early..
Many regions in the north of the kingdom have exceeded their annual averages for the rainy season early on during the impact of the last winter storm which brought very large amounts of rainfall that in some areas equaled more than half of the rainy season average coinciding with snow falling on the high mountains. The central regions of the kingdom have achieved around 80-90% of the rainy season and are expected to achieve their full rainy season and possibly exceed it with the expected atmospheric lows mid-month, while the southern regions are still recording a modest seasonal rainfall performance.

This rainy season has been characterized by consecutive strong rainy cases without any interruption since the beginning of the season especially over the north and central regions, with recording high surface humidity rates even during stable periods (twice the evaporation rate which equals in importance with rainfall rates).

The WASM Regional Center was able to forecast a strong rainy season by operating its unique climate model of its kind in the Arab region during the beginning of the rainy season.
