WASM – A winter storm begins tonight over the Kingdom, bringing heavy rainfall with violent wind gusts, thunderstorms with intense precipitation at times, and this winter storm will continue for several days until mid-February at minimum, accompanied by unusually large amounts of precipitation and low temperatures. This expected storm is considered "unusual" due to its long duration and large quantities of precipitation.
In detail, the weather tomorrow, Tuesday, will be heavily rainy and extremely cold coinciding with violent wind gusts exceeding 70 km/h in some areas, with rainfall concentrated in the north and center of the Kingdom and its southwest, mixed with snow and hail falling in the high mountains.
The winter storm intensifies Wednesday and Thursday, with gusts becoming violent exceeding 90 km/h, accompanied by large amounts of precipitation, with snow falling on high mountainous areas above 1100 meters above sea level, including high northern and southern mountains and central peaks on Wednesday/Thursday night, with generally light accumulations occurring.
Heavy precipitation recedes on Thursday evening and Thursday/Friday night and Friday daytime, with freezing and frost occurring and temperatures around zero degrees Celsius on the high mountains.
Starting Saturday and the beginning of next week, heavy precipitation renews and the chances of snow falling on mountainous areas increase, with the winter storm expected to intensify and continue for several days coinciding with low temperatures and violent winds.
