Rainy weather systems are nearing the region..Tuesday brings fluctuations and rain, with more expected mid‑month

WASM- The region will be affected by more widespread autumn weather fluctuations starting Tuesday, with their initial impact extending across the Levant, northwestern Saudi Arabia, and parts of Iraq.

These weather disturbances will concentrate over various parts of Syria, becoming more widespread toward Jordan and Palestine, then the Al‑Jouf, Tabuk, and Northern Borders regions of Saudi Arabia, and later parts of Iraq—especially its western and northern areas.

Jordan and Palestine will be affected by bands of rain‑bearing clouds starting at dawn on Tuesday, leading to scattered showers or generally light rainfall in different areas. Heavy thunderstorm showers will fall at times over northwestern Syria and the Lebanese coast, accompanied by a temporary drop in temperatures before they rise noticeably toward the end of the week, with weather fluctuations continuing.

Rain‑bearing clouds will also extend over scattered parts of Al‑Jouf, Tabuk, the Northern Borders, Arar, and Al‑Qurayyat, and some of these clouds may produce thunderstorms.

Temperature rise and deepening of the Red Sea Trough

Temperatures will rise significantly over northwestern Saudi Arabia and the Levant toward the end of the week, approaching summer‑like levels during the daytime as a result of the deepening Red Sea Trough.

Thunderstorm rainfall will become more frequent starting late in the week over parts of Jordan, Palestine, the Levant, and northwestern Saudi Arabia (more noticeably), but with light to moderate intensity and not widespread—compared to Tuesday, when rainfall will be generally light but more widespread due to extensive stratiform rain clouds.

Rainy weather systems are expected to increase in strength and coverage around mid‑month, affecting wide areas of the Levant, northwestern Saudi Arabia, northern Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, and gradually extending toward north‑central Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Due to global atmospheric and climatic conditions, rainfall events this month—especially during the second half—are expected to be very heavy, accompanied by a significantly elevated risk of flash floods. These risks are likely to persist intermittently throughout the coming months.
