The Daily Weather Update for the Arab Region (Middle East)11-10-2026

Update Date | 11‑10‑2026

WASM – The rainstorm affecting the Levant and northwestern Saudi Arabia reaches its peak today and tomorrow (Monday), with flash‑flood risks in some areas.

The rainstorm impacting northwestern Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Syria reaches its peak today, Sunday, and tomorrow, Monday, bringing heavy thundery showers accompanied by strong winds and dust. The weather system will be most intense on Monday over eastern and southern Jordan, Syria, and northwestern Saudi Arabia, before weakening on Tuesday while limited thundercloud activity continues.

A quasi‑winter low‑pressure system is expected to approach the region toward the end of the week, centered over northwestern Syria and Lebanon, and to a lesser extent parts of Jordan and Palestine, bringing a significant drop in temperatures and a return to cold weather.

WASM Regional Center continues to monitor a strong, widespread regional rainstorm expected to begin during the last third of this month. Details will be released progressively.

The detailed seasonal weather bulletin for the Arab region for 2026–2027 has been issued.

Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, and the Arabian Peninsula

The rainstorm reaches its peak in northwestern Saudi Arabia, where the weather becomes highly unstable, especially in Al‑Jouf, Tabuk, Al‑Qurayyat, northern Hail, and parts of the Northern Borders region. Heavy thundery showers and periods of strong winds are expected, with continued and intensifying thunderclouds over the highlands of Asir, Makkah, Taif, Al‑Baha, and western Madinah. Rainfall may be heavy in parts of the Holy Capital (Makkah), with risks of water accumulation.

Rain may be heavy at times in parts of Al‑Jouf, eastern Tabuk, western Northern Borders, and Al‑Qurayyat, with flash‑flood risks especially on Monday.

Rainstorms are expected to become more widespread, stronger, and heavier between October 18–20 across several regions in Saudi Arabia, then expand further toward the end of the month as the regional rainstorm develops.

Temperatures continue to cool across the region, tending toward cold late at night in northern areas. Humidity remains high along the coasts of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, with cloud cover and dust‑raising winds in exposed areas of Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
