WASM — Heavy rainfall continues over the northwestern Levant, and a regional rainstorm is expected to begin at the end of the week from the Levant and northwestern Saudi Arabia before expanding later.

A strong equatorial wave over the Arabian Sea will deepen toward the Arabian Peninsula during the last third of the month, coinciding with ongoing Mediterranean lows, resulting in a widespread and intense regional rain event.

The detailed seasonal weather bulletin for the Arab region for 2026–2027 has been issued.

Weather Details by Region

Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, and the Arabian Peninsula

Weather stabilizes temporarily in northwestern Saudi Arabia but will become unsettled again toward the end of the week as a regional rainstorm is expected to affect the area.

The regional rain event will begin at the end of the week over northwestern Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the Levant, and surrounding areas, then intensify significantly during the last week of the month and expand across wide regions.

Heavy thunderstorms will fall at times over the highlands of Makkah, Taif, Al‑Baha, Jazan, Asir, and surrounding areas, with the event strengthening late next week as part of the regional rainstorm.

Levant

Cold weather is expected in the coming days followed by a rise in temperatures toward the end of the week. Heavy rain continues over Lebanon and northwestern Syria and extends as scattered showers into parts of Palestine. A strong regional rainstorm is being monitored, expected to begin at the end of the week and intensify significantly next week, with high risks of new and strong flash‑flood waves.

Jordan

Cold, semi‑wintery weather—especially at night—with a slight chance of light, localized showers in parts of the northern regions. More details will follow.

Cool daytime weather and cold, semi‑wintery nights. A semi‑winter low-pressure system approaches, bringing scattered showers in limited areas. A heavy regional rainstorm is expected during the last third of the month.

Lebanon

Temperatures drop, bringing back cold and semi‑wintery weather in the mountains and mild conditions along the coast. Lebanon will be affected by a semi‑winter low-pressure system with heavy rainfall accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures.

Iraq

Weather stabilizes temporarily, then becomes unsettled again in various regions by mid and late week as part of the early stages of a regional rainstorm. Iraq will be affected by a widespread and heavy regional rain event beginning at the end of the week and intensifying next week.
