The Daily Weather Update for the Arab Region (Middle East)2-10-2026

WASM – Heavy rainfall will gradually decrease in Syria and Lebanon on Saturday, while the early autumn chill continues, especially during the night and early morning hours. Temperatures will rise by mid and late next week, returning to typical autumn levels, though weather instability will persist (the detailed forecast for each country and region is included in this report).

Summer heat breaks across many areas of Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Peninsula, Kuwait, the Arabian Gulf, and Iraq toward the end of the week, accompanied by weather fluctuations over northwestern Saudi Arabia, Al‑Jouf, Tabuk, and the highlands.

Weather instability will intensify over northwestern Saudi Arabia and the Levant in the coming days, gradually expanding due to the extension and activity of the Red Sea Trough, which triggers atmospheric disturbances and temperature variations.

The detailed seasonal weather bulletin for the Arab region for 2026–2027 has been issued.

Weather Forecast Details for Each Region

Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, and the Arabian Peninsula

Temperatures break across the region and tend toward cooler conditions late at night in northern areas. Humidity remains high and uncomfortable along the coastal regions of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, with cloud cover and dust‑raising winds affecting exposed areas of Riyadh and the Eastern Province.

Thunderstorm showers will affect parts of Al‑Jouf and Tabuk as part of the first wave of weather instability in northwestern Saudi Arabia. Showers will also continue over the highlands of Asir, Jazan, Al‑Baha, and Taif, extending into parts of Makkah and even the Holy Capital, with thunderclouds reaching the highlands of Madinah.

Temperatures will drop below 40°C by the end of the week across many areas of the Gulf and Saudi Arabia for the first time since summer ended — a sign of early autumn influence. Riyadh will record around 38°C, Kuwait around 36°C, and Baghdad around 34°C (check your city’s temperature via our app).

Weather instability will increase progressively this month, especially over northern and northwestern Saudi Arabia, signaling an early start to the autumn “Wasmi” weather season, which is expected to intensify further by mid‑next month and become more widespread and stronger.

The Levant

The impact of the weather system gradually weakens, and rainfall decreases. Early autumn chill persists, with temperatures in the mountains around 21–22°C during the day and 12°C at night — about 5–7 degrees below seasonal averages — with noticeable cold during nighttime and early morning hours.

Light showers are expected in parts of Jordan and Palestine.

Jordan

Autumn‑like cool weather prevails during the day and becomes cold at night. Temperatures in the mountains are in the low twenties during the day and drop below 12°C at night in the mountains and open plains. Scattered clouds appear at various altitudes, with generally light rain showers.

Temperatures rise by mid and late next week, but weather instability increases noticeably, with showers expected in various areas, especially Monday evening and Tuesday.

Syria

The impact of the weather system affecting Syria gradually decreases, though flood risks continue on Friday. Rainfall extends as scattered showers across different regions amid cold, nearly winter‑like nighttime conditions.

Weather instability will renew by mid and late next week and intensify progressively, especially by mid‑month, becoming more widespread and stronger.

Palestine

Mild autumn weather prevails during the day, with cold nights in the highlands. Scattered showers are expected in various areas, especially coastal regions. Temperatures rise mid‑next week alongside renewed weather instability and rain showers.

Lebanon

A weather system brings heavy rainfall, especially to coastal areas and mountain ranges, with expectations of gradual weakening on Saturday. Temperatures drop significantly, and colder autumn conditions intensify at night.

Rainy weather patterns will continue next week and throughout the month, increasing progressively.

Iraq

Temperatures gradually break, and weather instability continues, with thunderstorm showers in some areas alongside mild nighttime conditions. Weather instability and thunderstorm showers are expected to increase across northern and western regions, with stronger weather systems anticipated by mid‑month.
