WASM Regional Center – Autumn winds deepen and temperatures continue to drop across the Levant and northern Saudi Arabia, with heavy rainfall over northwestern Syria and Lebanon. Saudi Arabia, Arabian Gulf, and Arabian Peninsula
Weather remains hot across most of the region, tending to become cool late at night in northern areas. Humidity levels will be high and uncomfortable along the coastal regions of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Clouds will appear, with dusty winds affecting open areas in Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
Thunderstorms will bring showers to the highlands of Asir, Jazan, Al‑Baha, and Taif, extending into parts of the Makkah region, including limited areas of the Holy Capital. Thunderclouds may also extend toward the highlands of Medina and limited parts of western Hail.
Temperatures will drop below 40°C by mid and late week across many Gulf and Saudi regions for the first time since summer ended—an early sign of autumn’s arrival.
Weather fluctuations will intensify toward the end of the month and become stronger next month, especially over northern Saudi Arabia, marking an early start to the “Wasmi” autumn rainy season, beginning from northwestern Saudi Arabia and strengthening progressively throughout next month.
Levant Region
Autumn’s cooler winds deepen by mid and late week, starting Monday. Mountain temperatures will drop to 21–22°C, around 5–7°C below seasonal averages, with noticeable chill at night and early morning.
Rainfall is expected in some areas, especially northwestern Syria, where heavy rain may cause significant flash‑flood risks on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the week.
Jordan
A clear drop in temperatures with mild autumn weather tending to be cool at night. Daytime temperatures remain in the twenties, falling below 13°C at night in mountains and open plains. Clouds appear at varying altitudes at times, and nighttime humidity increases, maintaining the “dew” phenomenon. Winds are northwesterly to westerly, becoming active during the afternoon.
Scattered showers are expected mid and late week in limited parts of northern and central Jordan, with better chances toward the weekend.
Syria
Mild autumn weather, tending to be warm at midday in inland areas and Damascus. Temperatures remain below seasonal averages. Thunderstorms will bring heavy localized rainfall to Syria’s northern‑western coasts and highlands.
Syria will be affected by deepening, cooler autumn winds, with heavy rainfall over northwestern Syria and Lebanon and elevated flood risks.
Scattered showers are possible across various regions mid and late week, with noticeable nighttime and early‑morning chill.
Palestine
Generally mild autumn weather, humid along coastal and near‑coastal areas, and slightly cool at night and early morning with occasional wind activity and cloud cover.
Temperatures will drop significantly, with scattered showers—especially along the coast and northern areas. Nighttime chill increases, reaching 15°C on some mountain peaks.
Lebanon
Temperatures drop noticeably, and autumn’s influence strengthens with mild daytime conditions and cool to cold weather in the mountains, accompanied by active winds and cloud cover. Heavy thunderstorms will affect many areas Sunday evening and Monday.
Heavy rainfall will continue intermittently mid and late week across coastal, mountainous, and plain regions, with flood risks due to deepening cooler autumn winds.
Iraq
Weather remains generally hot, but temperatures will drop clearly this week as autumn air masses begin to influence the region. Daytime temperatures fall below 40°C in many areas, with mild to cool nights in some regions.
Weather fluctuations are expected to begin, especially in western Iraq, with thunderstorms likely toward the end of the week—marking the onset of heavier rainy systems.
