Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, and the Arabian Peninsula
Temperatures remain hot across most areas, tending to become cooler late at night in northern regions. Humidity levels remain high and uncomfortable along the coastal areas of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, with cloud cover and dust‑raising winds in exposed areas of Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
Thunderstorms are expected over the highlands of Asir, Jazan, Al‑Baha, and Taif, extending into parts of the Mecca region, including limited areas of the Holy Capital. Thunderclouds also extend toward the highlands of the Medina region.
Temperatures fall below 40°C by mid and late week in many Gulf and Saudi regions for the first time since the end of summer, signaling early autumnal influence. In Riyadh, temperatures are expected to reach around 38°C during the day by the end of the week.
Weather disturbances intensify next month, especially over northern and northwestern Saudi Arabia, marking an early start to the autumn “Wasm” rainy season, which is expected to strengthen progressively and become more widespread.
The Levant
The Levant is affected by a rare, semi‑winter low‑pressure system, bringing heavy rainfall to northwestern Syria and Lebanon. Temperatures in the mountains range between 21–22°C during the day and 12°C at night, which is 5–7°C below seasonal averages, with noticeable chill during the night and early morning.
Scattered showers fall over parts of Jordan and Palestine, especially on Wednesday, with renewed chances toward the end of the week and intensifying next week.
Jordan
A significant drop in temperatures with mild autumn weather during the day and cold nights. Daytime temperatures remain in the twenties, while nighttime temperatures fall below 12°C in mountains and open plains. Clouds appear at varying altitudes at times. Showers are expected on Wednesday and again at the end of the week, with a high chance of stronger rainfall next week (details soon).
Syria
Syria is affected by a rainy low‑pressure system, bringing heavy rainfall especially to the northwest and northern regions. These heavy rains continue in waves for several days, extending as scattered showers across various areas amid cold, semi‑winter weather at night.
Low‑pressure systems and weather disturbances continue into early next month, intensifying progressively and becoming more widespread.
Palestine
A noticeable drop in temperatures with mild autumn weather overall, and cold nights in the mountainous highlands. Scattered showers fall in various regions, especially coastal areas, with high chances on Wednesday and again at the end of the week.
Lebanon
A low‑pressure system brings heavy rainfall, especially in coastal areas and mountain highlands, occurring in waves over several days. Temperatures drop significantly, and colder autumn conditions intensify, especially at night.
Rainy weather systems strengthen next week and during early October, becoming more powerful and widespread.
Iraq
Weather remains hot overall, but temperatures drop clearly next week with the arrival of autumn air masses. Daytime temperatures fall below 40°C in many regions, with mild to cool nights in some areas.
Weather disturbances are expected to begin, with thunderstorms likely toward the end of the new week and into the following week—marking the onset of potentially heavy rainy systems.
