Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, and the Arabian Peninsula
Temperatures remain hot across most areas, tending to become cooler late at night in northern regions. Humidity levels will be high and uncomfortable along the coastal areas of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, with cloud cover and dust‑raising winds in exposed areas of Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
Thunderstorm showers are expected over the highlands of Asir, Jazan, Al‑Baha, and Taif, extending into parts of the Makkah region, including some areas of the Holy City. Thunderclouds may also extend toward the highlands of the Madinah region.
Temperatures will fall below 40°C in many areas of the Gulf and Saudi Arabia by mid and late week — for the first time since the end of summer — signaling the onset of early autumnal influences. In Riyadh, temperatures are expected to reach around 38°C during the day by the end of the week.
Weather fluctuations will intensify next month, especially over northern and northwestern Saudi Arabia, marking the early arrival of “Wasmi” autumnal weather systems, which are expected to strengthen progressively and become more widespread.
Levant
The Levant continues to be affected by a rare quasi‑winter low‑pressure system, bringing heavy rainfall to northwestern Syria and Lebanon. Temperatures in the mountains will range between 21–22°C during the day and around 12°C at night — 5–7°C below seasonal averages — with a noticeable chill during nighttime and early morning hours.
Scattered showers are expected in parts of Jordan and Palestine, especially on Wednesday, with renewed chances toward the end of the week and intensifying next week.
Jordan
Autumnal weather prevails, tending toward coolness during the day and becoming cold at night. Daytime temperatures in the mountains will be in the low twenties, dropping below 12°C at night in mountainous and open plain areas. Clouds will appear at varying altitudes at times, with showers expected especially on Wednesday, and returning late week / early next week. Chances are high for stronger rainfall next week, with details to follow.
Syria
Syria is affected by a rainy low‑pressure system, with heavy rainfall especially over the northwest and northern regions. These rains will continue for several days in waves, extending as scattered showers across various areas amid cold, quasi‑winter nighttime conditions.
Low‑pressure systems and weather disturbances will persist into early next month, intensifying progressively and becoming more widespread.
Palestine
Autumnal weather with generally mild daytime temperatures and cold nights in mountainous areas. Scattered showers are expected in various regions, especially coastal areas, with high chances on Wednesday and again toward the end of the week.
Lebanon
A low‑pressure system brings heavy rainfall, especially in coastal and mountainous regions, occurring in waves over several days. Temperatures drop significantly, increasing the influence of colder autumnal conditions, particularly at night.
Rainy weather systems will intensify next week and into early October, becoming stronger and more widespread.
Iraq
Generally hot weather persists, but temperatures will drop noticeably in the coming days as autumn air masses begin to influence the region. Temperatures will fall below 40°C in many areas during the day, with mild to cool nighttime conditions in some regions.
Weather fluctuations are expected to begin, with thunderstorm showers likely toward the end of the new week and into next week — marking the onset of potentially heavy rainfall events.
