The Daily Weather Update for the Arab Region (Middle East)30-10-2026
Update Date | 30‑10‑2026

WASM – Cold, winter‑like low‑pressure systems are expected in the middle and end of the week, with widespread rainfall events renewing gradually before mid‑month and affecting large parts of the Middle East once again.

  1. Cold, winter‑like, and heavily rainy low‑pressure systems will affect the Levant, Iraq, northern Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait during the second half of the week due to the rare early approach of polar winds toward the eastern Mediterranean.
  2. A second, deeper and more humid equatorial wave is being monitored for the second week of November, expected to bring additional heavy rainfall to the region, especially the Arabian Peninsula and Gulf countries.
  3. The current rainfall event has caused losses and fatalities in several areas across the Levant and Iraq. WASM was the only regional source that indicated this weather event early through its W.DMM model and its proprietary climate model.

The detailed seasonal weather bulletin for the Arab region for 2026–2027 has been issued.

Details of the Cold Low‑Pressure Systems During the Second Half of the Week

The current rainfall event continues and focuses on northern Saudi Arabia, parts of Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, and areas of eastern and northern Jordan at the beginning of the week, followed by a new peak starting in the second half of the week.

Several cold, heavily rainy winter low‑pressure systems are expected to develop, coinciding with the rare approach of polar winds to the region at this time of year. These cold systems will later coincide with the deepening of a highly humid equatorial wave from the Arabian Sea, leading to another new rainfall event before mid‑month.
