Temperatures will drop below 40°C across many regions of Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Peninsula, Kuwait, the Gulf, and Iraq by the end of the week, accompanied by increasing weather instability over northwest Saudi Arabia, Al‑Jouf, Tabuk, and the highlands.
Weather fluctuations will intensify next week over northwest Saudi Arabia and the Levant.

Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, and the Arabian Peninsula
Weather remains hot across most areas, turning cooler late at night in northern regions.Humidity levels remain high and uncomfortable along the coastal areas of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.Clouds appear at times, with dusty winds affecting exposed areas in Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
Thunderstorms will affect parts of Al‑Jouf and Tabuk as the first signs of weather instability in northwest Saudi Arabia.Rain showers continue over the highlands of Asir, Jazan, Al‑Baha, Taif, and extend into parts of Makkah, including areas of the Holy Capital, with thunderclouds also reaching the highlands of Al‑Madinah.
By the end of the week, temperatures fall below 40°C across many areas in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf for the first time since summer, signaling the early onset of autumn conditions:
- Riyadh: ~38°C
- Kuwait City: ~36°C
- Baghdad: ~34°C
Weather instability increases progressively throughout October, especially over northern and northwestern Saudi Arabia, marking an early start to the “Wasmi” autumn rain season, which is expected to intensify and become more widespread by mid‑October.
Levant (Bilad al‑Sham)
The region remains under the influence of a rare, quasi‑winter low‑pressure system, bringing heavy rainfall to northwest Syria and Lebanon.Mountain temperatures range between 21–22°C during the day and 12°C at night, which is 5–7°C below seasonal averages, with noticeable chill during nighttime and early morning hours.
Rain showers will affect parts of Jordan and Palestine starting today (Wednesday), continuing through the weekend and intensifying next week.
Jordan
Autumn-like, cool daytime conditions and cold nights.Mountain temperatures remain in the low 20s°C during the day and drop below 12°C at night in mountains and open plains.Clouds appear at varying altitudes at times.Thunderstorms are possible today (Wednesday), with renewed chances at the end of the week and early next week, likely intensifying further.
Syria
A rainy low-pressure system brings heavy rainfall to the northwest and northern regions, with high flood risks on Thursday and Friday.Scattered showers extend to other areas amid cold, quasi‑winter nighttime conditions.Weather systems and instability continue into early October, strengthening and becoming more widespread.
Palestine
Mild autumn weather during the day and cold nights in the highlands.Rain showers expected in various areas, especially coastal regions, today (Wednesday) and again toward the end of the week.
Lebanon
A low-pressure system brings heavy rainfall in waves over several days, especially along the coast and mountain regions, with high flood risks Thursday and Friday.Temperatures drop significantly, and colder autumn conditions intensify at night.Rainy weather systems strengthen next week and early October, becoming more widespread and powerful.
Iraq
Generally hot conditions, but temperatures drop noticeably by the end of the week as autumn air masses begin to influence the region.Daytime temperatures fall below 40°C in many areas, with milder and occasionally cool nights.Thunderstorms may begin over western Iraq, intensifying next month, especially around mid‑October.
