Update Date | 4-10-2026

WASM – Heavy rain events are approaching the region, but they coincide with a noticeable rise in temperatures. Rainfall begins with scattered showers across parts of the Levant and northwestern Saudi Arabia starting Tuesday, renewing and intensifying toward the end of the week.

Summer heat continues to break across the Arabian Peninsula and Gulf countries, with further gradual cooling expected this week as rainy conditions begin in northwestern Saudi Arabia and wide areas of the Levant and Iraq. However, this coincides with a rise in temperatures in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

The Red Sea trough extends toward the Levant and northwestern Saudi Arabia by mid and late week, leading to higher temperatures in northwestern Saudi Arabia and the Levant, marking the beginning of a series of weather disturbances and rainy systems.

The detailed seasonal weather bulletin for the Arab region for 2026–2027 has been issued.

Weather Details for Each Region and Country

Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, and the Arabian Peninsula

Temperatures continue to decline across the region, tending toward cool conditions late at night in northern areas. Humidity remains generally high along the coastal regions of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, with cloud cover and dust‑raising winds in exposed areas of Riyadh and the Eastern Province.

Weather becomes unstable in northwestern Saudi Arabia, especially in Al‑Jouf, Tabuk, Qurayyat, northern Hail, and parts of the Northern Borders region, particularly mid and late week. This leads to thunderstorms and occasional strong winds, with continued thundercloud activity over parts of the Asir highlands, Makkah, Taif, Al‑Baha, and western Madinah.

Rainy weather systems approach the region, beginning in northwestern Saudi Arabia mid‑week and intensifying toward the end of the week, with rainfall becoming heavier by mid‑month and expanding to more areas.

The Levant

Temperatures rise noticeably as the Red Sea trough extends into the region, causing clear weather fluctuations mid and late week. These disturbances focus more on Jordan and Palestine toward the end of the week, bringing scattered showers and active winds.

Jordan

Temperatures rise significantly mid and late week, making daytime weather warm while remaining cool at night and early morning. Cloud cover increases mid and late week, with showers expected especially on Tuesday, accompanied by occasional wind activity.

Weather disturbances renew at the end of the week and intensify next week, marking the beginning of strong rain events that will gradually develop after mid‑month, God willing.

Syria

Temperatures rise mid‑week with unstable weather, especially in eastern Syria and northwestern areas, leading to heavy thunderstorms at times.

Weather disturbances intensify noticeably around mid‑month and become strong gradually afterward.

Palestine

Temperatures rise mid and late week, bringing warm autumn weather during the day and mild conditions at night and early morning, tending toward coolness in the mountains. Showers fall on Tuesday, especially in southern and central Palestine. Weather disturbances renew next week, with rainfall intensifying gradually after mid‑month.

Lebanon

The impact of the previous low‑pressure system gradually weakens, and temperatures rise mid and late week, with showers expected in various areas during this period.

Weather disturbances intensify next week and become heavy gradually after mid‑month.

Iraq

Temperatures continue to decline gradually with ongoing weather instability. Thunderstorms fall in some areas, accompanied by mild nighttime conditions. Weather disturbances are expected to increase, with thunderstorms affecting northern and western regions mid and late week.
