WASM – Northwest Saudi Arabia and the Levant will be affected by unstable weather conditions and thunderstorm‑producing rain events, starting next week, with periods of heavy rainfall at times.
Temperatures will rise in these regions toward the end of the week as the Red Sea Trough deepens, accompanied by a moist and unstable air mass, coinciding with the presence of colder upper‑ and mid‑level atmospheric currents.
This will lead to weather instability beginning Saturday and intensifying through next week, with the development of a widespread instability event affecting Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and northwest Saudi Arabia—especially Tabuk, Al‑Jawf, the Northern Borders region, and extending toward northern Al‑Madinah and the western highlands of Saudi Arabia.

Thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall at times, with risks of localized flash floods. As the month progresses, the intensity and coverage of rainfall events are expected to expand after mid‑month to include parts of north‑central and northeastern Saudi Arabia, while becoming stronger over Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq—marking a robust start to the current rainy season.
WASM Regional Center will continue issuing updates on expected weather systems due to the rapid changes typical of autumn conditions, especially with forecasts indicating that upcoming rainfall events may become very heavy and widespread over the coming weeks.
